Listen Serena, I do not travel… I arrive…through you

It is not distance… but awareness… that carries me to you

By Suresh Nautiyal Greenananda

The Journey Within

You walk perhaps

along the Adriatic Sea

where waves return

like unfinished prayers

you wander through Venice

where the Venetian Lagoon does rise

the small islands simply are

like silence made visible

you sit in old squares

where music dissolves into air

and here at Greendham

I see the meditating Himalayan mountains

which are a pause in the moment of time

where beauty forgets to end

and I do not travel

I arrive

through you

Listen my dear Serena

it is not distance

but awareness

that carries me to you

In a trance I descend

the steps from Himalaya to Santa Lucia

yet within

I am already ascending

towards Chaukhamba

and in those glaciers

there are no palaces

no reflections

only a quiet endurance of lives

of lands

of truths

that remain unseen

yet hold the world together!
